To get things started, we'll meet up (usually at my place towards the south end of Jaco) to pick up mountain bikes, helmets, gloves and water bottles. From there, we'll cruise to Miro's Mountain....where the fun begins!!

We'll ride (hike when needed) up Jaco's most popular trail where you'll see spectacular views and amazing wildlife (3 types of monkeys live here, Scarlett Macaws, two types of Toucans, sloths, poison dart frogs, wild pigs and more).

We'll make stops at the "arches", the "restaurant" and "Cruce Hermosa." At "Cruce Hermosa" you will have the option of continuing on to "El Nance" (my favorite lookout!) and "Tres Marias."

Beginner/Intermediate -not technical

All rides are based on riders ability/fitness level. No worries if we need to walk a bit. Hike and Bikes are a great way to explore. You cover more ground than hiking which allows you to see more!!! Plus the downhills are more fun!!!

I can also arrange a more mellow/flat ride for those that don't like riding uphill. There are a couple of options in the area that allow you to enjoy the countryside without overexerting yourself.

Todd knows the areas around Jaco very well and he will be able to match you up with a ride that matches your ability and fitness levels. We went up the Jaco Miro just south of Playa Jaco and the painted wall murals and view were magnificent. Todd pointed out some White Faced monkeys and we heard some Macaws that were flying about. Unfortunately for me, although I was used to the high altitude of my home riding in Denver, I was not use to the incredible high humidity, coupled with the heat. I got dizzy, but Todd did a great job of taking care of me. He initially wanted to go for a 7am ride, but I pushed for a 9am start time, being on vacation and in no hurry. I should have went with Todd's suggestion. LOL. Unless you are in very good shape and some what accustomed to humidity/heat, I would generally go for an early start. I would 100% recommend this ride/adventure if you like mountain biking and the beauty and biodiversity of the Costa Rican jungle! Todd is a class act BTW!
