HALF DAY TOUR FROM JACO WITH TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED

El Toledo Coffee Tour is a project that features coffee production in harmony with the environment. At El Toledo Farm, natural resources are used to produce organic coffee in a way that minimizes the impact in nature! To be able to reach this objective it is necessary to make a lot of changes to a typical coffee plantation and introduce new techniques that will protect and benefit the farm.

Nature acts wisely, often we will see ourselves damaging the order of nature to see improvements of our fields only to learn later on life that working against nature only causes harm to our heath and our land, so we are highly committed to preserving nature allowing it to act in harmony, therefore producing high quality coffee born and raised in its natural habitat.

At El Toledo you will experience the wanders of the costarican coffee farms, understand the difference of the coffee beans, and watch the old method of making costarican coffee!

Third-generation coffee farmer Gabriel delivered an interactive presentation on coffee and biodiversity that was extraordinarily profound. The stuff of the best TED talks. Gabriel talked about the issues surrounding the coffee industry and how and why they became an organic plantation. They have learned how to control pests and improve crops by diversifying the plants within the plantation. They grow other fruits and vegetables next to the coffee which provides them with a secondary source of income. We will never consider coffee in the same way again. And there was a whole lesson on light vs medium vs dark roast... Gabriel encouraged each of us to reconsider coffee the way a sommelier teaches you about wine. Oh - and yes - part of the wonder of El Toledo is that they have begun using some of the other 80% of the coffee plant to create Coffee Wine.. and it's soooo smoooth. Highly recommend this tour and the coffee beans they produce.
